Lately I have had a few people ask me what my daily skincare routine is, so I decided to share it with everyone. About a year or two ago, I decided to research and to dedicate my time to better my skin. I had scars and consistent acne into my early twenties. It became very frustrating and embarrassing. I even had flaky skin in the middle of my T-zone (middle of my forehead and nose). So it was really hard to even wear makeup to cover the acne scars (due to the deposits of flaky skin). However, over time, I found what worked for my dry and acne prone skin. You wouldn't believe it, but it was mostly due to a few natural vitamins that I lacked in my diet!
The very first thing I do is wash my face with the Aloe Vera Cleanser by Esfolio in the shower. I was my face in the shower because it is just more time efficient. The aloe in the cleanser allows my face to keep moisture versus other cleansers that dry my skin out. If you are having trouble finding a cleanser that works well for you, stop to think. Are you using it too often? I only use mine once every day during the summer, and once every other day during the winter. Otherwise, my face dries out.
After I get out of the shower, I put on ArtNaturals Hyaluronic Acid Serum. They hyaluronic acid will reduce wrinkles, redness, and increase moisture of the skin. I love that the serums are so affordable and last for so long (up to six months). After I apply the hyaluronic acid, I apply a few drops of ArtNaturals Vitamin C Serum underneath my eyes, cheeks, and around my temples. Vitamin C improves collage synthesis. Collagen is a protein located in your skin that allows for youthful looking skin. The production of collagen decreases as you age; therefore, you gain aged skin. After I apply Vitamin C, I let it dry for about thirty seconds or more. Then I apply the ArtNaturals Retinol Serum around my eyes to prevent wrinkles. All of these products can be found on Amazon for less than $25!!
After I let the Art Naturals Retinol Serum settle, I apply Cera Ve SA Cream for Rough and Bumpy Cream. Salicyclic Acid is an exfoliant that sheds the dead skin. I usually apply this once or twice a week on my face and every day onto the rest of my body. I have a subscription to Amazon to deliver this to my house once a month. Ends up being cheaper then going to Walmart or somewhere else to get it.
I use Aromatherapy Stress Relief Eucalyptus + Spearmint before I go to bed. I rub a little on my hands, and I am snoozing a few minutes later. It has such a relaxing effect on me. Now my perfume isn't technically skin care, but I thought I would include it since I put it on as I am getting ready (a part of my everyday routine). I absolutely love the Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume. I have a very sensitive nose, so I am not able to wear overwhelming scents. Thus, the Marc Jacobs Daisy line is perfect for me. If any of you guys have the same problem, then I definitely recommend these perfumes. I get compliments on them all the time!
Lastly, I want to share my love for candles with you guys! I love scents that create a spa-like environment. I have such a stressful day to day life that I want to create an environment that I can unwind and relax in. The last place I should stress in is my home. Candles are infamous for creating stress free environments. Plants also do that, but that is for a later blog! My favorite line of candles are the Bridgewater Candles. They have such a relaxing and soothing smell, but they can be a little pricey. The one in the picture is $50. A similar candle is the Aromatherapy Candle found at Bath and Body Works. You can purchase these candles for half the price of the Bridgewater candles.
I couldn't snap a picture without my precious pooch wanting to make a cameo appearance. It doesn't hurt that she is the cutest puppy alive! Her name is Emma Grace, and she makes the worst of days seem like a cloud full of sunshine.
I really enjoyed this post, and would love to hear about your skincare routine! I am always looking for improvement. Thank you guys for taking the time to read my post. It means the world to me! Hope you guys have the best weekend. Happy Thursday!
